I needed something to mount my POLK monitor 40 speakers (14lbs each) These mounts were perfect, well made and sturdy as well as very nice looking. Installation was a breeze although I did buy my own drywall anchors because I didnt mount them in a stud and the anchors that came with these were not up to the task at hand. You drill 4 screws into each mount with drywall anchors and then put the little plastic cover over the screws so you cant see them. You can adjust the width to accomodate some fairly large bookshelf speakers and then rotate sideways and up and down as well. There is some tape between the mount and the speaker to keep it snug and not damage the side of the speaker and even some little screws that drill into the side of the speakers if you to face them downwards without fear of them falling out of the mount. They are rated at bieng able to hold 55lbs each if you drill into a stud. I used large drywall anchors and screws and they are firmly in place and hold my 14 pound speakers perfectly! On a side note I placed one order and got the package with 2 mounts in it and then the next day I got another package with 2 mounts in that box as well for a total of 4 speaker mounts, not sure if this was a mistake or not. I only needed 2 mounts and only ordered once

This product worked well for my application.

Pros: Welded Steel Construction, Good value for price

Cons: Screws included are cheap - you really should replace these with higher quality fasteners, requires mounting on a stud for rated weight capacity - not necessarily a design flaw but something to be aware of. It doesn't give you the flexibility other systems do.

Overall a great value. I am very happy with this product.

I bought these hoping they would be good. I was not disappointed. I mounted Definitive Technology SM450 with no issues. The clamps are very solid and sturdy, so much so that I don't feel it is necessary to use the security screws to secure the speaker to the mount.( I cannot physically pull the speaker from the mount) I used drywall anchors since where I wanted to mount them was nowhere near a stud. Not the hammer in anchors, the screw in type with their own specific screws. The foam that is provided for the clamps is a must. Make sure you use some kind of cushion on the speaker plate to prevent vibration. 7 degrees is alot more than you would think for tilt. Installs very quick and looks extremely clean.

The AM40 side clamping bookshelf speaker wall mount has been designed for traditional wood cabinet bookshelf style speakers that were not provide with a standard mounting point by the manufacturer. Using a solid platform with side clamps, the AM40 offers a 90 degree swivel, 7 degree tilt and can support a speaker 5.5" to 11" wide, up to 13" deep and a maximum of 50 lbs. Side clamps have specialized non-marking, non-slip isolation pads to provide a safe and secure contact point for the speaker. The AM40 comes with a decorative cover for the wall plate to conceal mounting screws for a clean installation. All mounting hardware is included and sold as a pair for mounting 2 speakers.
